SNDT was established in the year 1979. The University shifted itself to dual mode of education-face to face as well as distance mode mainly to empower women through higher education. The CDE is offering several certificate /diploma /degree /post-graduate courses in various disciplines to thousands of girls/housewives/working women who could not complete their education (not even SSC/HSC), but are strongly motivated to upgrade their educational and /or professional qualifications. In last 33 years, more than 3 Lakhs women are benefited by this facility and improved their careers in life.

SNDT Women’s University goals –

• Provide a wide range of professional and vocational courses for women to meet the socio-economic demands.
